Family Friendly Working Policies and Arrangements

  • Work-Life Effectiveness Strategy
    As part of its commitment to develop a work/life effectiveness strategy, Intel Ireland is investing £600,000 and has recently launched the following childcare programmes:
  • Family Links - an on-site referral and information service to provide consultation, information and assistance to employees who are seeking help with their childcare needs.
  • Childcare Development Fund - Intel is providing £300,000 to assist in the further development and improvement of crche facilities in the Intel Ireland locality.
  • Summer Camps - Intel will be running summer camps for children (age 5 - 12 years) of Intel employees, starting in July 2001.
  • Parenting and Dependent Care Seminars - Every quarter Intel Ireland plans to run at least one seminar covering relevant topics on parenting and dependent care.
  • Baby Hampers - Intel will send a gift of an Intel Baby Hamper to all new babies of Intel employees.
  • Childcare Strateg - Intel world-wide is currently carrying out an assessment of the costs and benefits of on-site crches.

In addition to these programmes Intel Ireland offer the following:

  • Part-time Work
  • Telecommuting/Home-working
  • Flexible Start Times
  • Leave of Absence for educational and personal reasons.

The Current Situation

Currently the company is reviewing its policies in support of flexible work arrangements to determine what improvements it can make in its flexible work options that would best benefit both business and employees.
